Fashion designer Valentino and cast members Ben Stiller, Penelope Cruz, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Christine Taylor with guests celebrate after Guinness record breaking selfie attempt during a London Fan Screening of the Paramount Pictures film “Zoolander No. 2” at the Empire Leicester Square on February 4, 2016 in London, England.
A adjudicator from Guinness World Records joined the stars on Thursday evening as star Ben Stiller set out to achieve a new record – for the longest selfie stick – 8,56 m. Ben Stiller was presented with an official Guinness certificate following the feat, in which he took a snap with a group of assembled celebs using the eight-and-a-half metre long device.
The Guiness World Records website gives the following stipulations for an attempt like this one:
“This record is for the longest selfie stick in terms of physical length.”
“This record is to be attempted by a team of unlimited size.”
“This record is measured in metres and centimetres, along with the imperial equivalent in feet and inches.”
“For the purpose of this record, a selfie stick is defined as a monopod for a mobile phone or a digital camera used as an extension of the arm to take self-portrait photographs.”
